Door Lines

Door designs usually include a primary or front fold and a secondary or return fold. If required all four sides can be folded, or two opposing sides can be left open to accommodate end-caps.

Where all four sides are folded, overlapping flanges are usually secured by spot welding or clinching. Alternatively, corners can be seam welded and linished. Strengthening inserts to support the hinge are also frequently clinched in place.

Typically, lines for open end doors are simple with door lengths determined by the blank length, while lines requiring all four sides to be folded, especially with balled corners are more complex and can only produce discreet predetermined lengths.

PML has extensive experience in producing automated lines for many different door designs for refrigerators, dishwashers and ovens. We are confident we can assist you in developing your product and supplying you appropriate machinery.
